Ohio School Employees Retirement System, Columbus, committed $50 million to Lightspeed Opportunity Fund II.
The $17.8 billion pension fund's board approved the commitment to the venture capital fund managed by Lightspeed Venture Partners at its July 22 meeting, according to board meeting highlights emailed by spokesman Tim Barbour.
It is the pension fund's first commitment to a Lightspeed fund.
As of May 31, the pension fund's actual allocation to private equity was 12.6%; the target is 12%.
