Ohio School Employees Retirement System, Columbus, made two new manager hires totaling $175 million.
The $15.2 billion pension fund hired J.P. Morgan Asset Management to run a $100 million high-yield fixed-income portfolio and committed $75 million to HPS Specialty Loan Fund V, a core senior lending strategy managed by HPS Investment Partners.
Both are funded by cash reserves, confirmed spokesman Tim Barbour in an email.
The pension fund committed to HPS Specialty Loan Fund IV in 2016.
As of Jan. 31, the actual allocations to global fixed income,and the opportunistic and tactical investments asset class were 16.1% and 2.3%, respectively. Their respective targets are 19% and zero.
