Ohio School Employees Retirement System, Columbus, hired Brown Brothers Harriman to manage up to $200 million in active core-plus fixed income and committed $10 million to BGTF II Zizou Co-Investment AIV, an infrastructure co-investment fund managed by Brookfield Asset Management.
The $19.8 billion pension fund’s staff investment committee approved the actions at its March 20 meeting, in meeting highlights emailed by spokesman Tim Barbour.
Funding comes from cash, the highlights said. SERS has made a number of commitments to Brookfield funds, including $50 million to Brookfield Global Transition Fund in 2022.
As of Jan. 31, the pension fund’s actual allocations to global fixed income and global infrastructure were 12.8% and 6.8%, respectively; their respective targets are 18% and 7%.
