New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany, made two alternative investment commitments for a total of $276 million in January, according to a posting on the website of Thomas P. DiNapoli, the state comptroller and sole trustee of the $259.9 billion fund.
The pension fund committed $250 million to KKR Real Estate Partners Americas IV SCSp, managed by KKR, a closed-end fund "focused primarily on transitional assets, real estate companies and platforms and distressed or complex situations across the real estate sectors," the website said. KKR is an existing relationship.
The pension funded also made a $26 million private equity commitment to Lone View Capital Fund I, through NYSCRF Pioneer Partnership Fund A-III, which is advised by HarbourVest Partners and is an Emerging Manager Program partner with the pension fund.
Lone View Capital Fund I, managed by Lone View Capital, "will primarily make control buyouts investments in growth-oriented companies across the enterprise software, information service and tech enabled sectors in North America," the website said. Lone View Capital is a new relationship.
