New Mexico Educational Retirement Board, Santa Fe, committed $77 million to co-lead with BlackRock a continuation fund for two properties in AE Industrial Partners Fund I, said Stephen J. Neel, deputy CIO, alternative assets, for the $14.5 billion pension fund in an email.
"NMERB has been active in this part of the market," Mr. Neel said. "We really think it provides an interesting risk-mitigated way to access (private equity)."
Pension fund officials committed $50 million to AE Industrial Partners Fund I in 2015. AE Industrial Partners executives planned to invest in companies in the aerospace and industrial gas turbine industries.
