New Hampshire Retirement System, Concord, hired Wellington Management to run about $145 million in active international small-cap equities.
The $11.5 billion pension fund's independent investment committee approved the hiring at its Oct. 22 meeting, said Marty Karlon, pension fund spokesman.
Funding comes from the termination of active international small-cap equity manager Segall Bryant & Hamill for performance reasons, Mr. Karlon said.
Cindy Knowlton, director of marketing at Segall Bryant, could not be immediately reached for comment.
As of June 30, NHRS' actual allocation to international equities was 18.9%.
