Merseyside Pension Fund, Liverpool, England, committed £10 million ($13 million) to Albion Real Assets Fund, managed by Albion Capital, said Owen Thorne, portfolio manager-monitoring and responsible investment, in an email Tuesday.
"We have a prior relationship with Albion Capital and our support for ARAF reflects our confidence in the team's ability to deliver their asset-backed investment strategy," Mr. Thorne said.
Merseyside has £9 billion in assets. Real assets falls under private equity, which currently has an allocation of just more than 6%, and real estate, a 9% allocation.
