Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency Retirement System, Boston, is searching for an active domestic core fixed-income manager to run $30 million.
The $254 million pension fund issued an RFP because the Massachusetts Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission requires putting services up for bid every seven years, said Joseph Petty, executive secretary.
The current manager is Longfellow Investment Management. Petty would not say whether the firm is invited to rebid.
As of Dec. 31, the pension fund’s actual allocation to investment-grade bonds was 19.1%; the target is 16%.
Investment consultant Meketa Investment Group is assisting.
The RFP is available on the DiligenceVault procurement website. Registration is required. Proposals are due by noon EDT on March 21. Petty said the search will probably be completed in three months.
