Marlborough (Mass.) Contributory Retirement System is searching for an active emerging markets equity manager to run about $10 million.
The $215 million pension fund is seeking proposals from emerging markets equity managers with mutual funds or commingled funds that are actively managed and are intended to outperform the MSCI Emerging Markets index, according to a notice on the website of investment consultant Meketa Investment Group, which is assisting with the search.
The RFP does not disclose the reason for the search. The pension fund’s current emerging markets equity managers are Dimensional Fund Advisors and Driehaus Capital Management, which each ran $10 million active portfolios as of Sept. 30, according to its most recent available investment report.
The pension fund’s target to emerging markets equity is 14%.
The RFP is available on the DiligenceVault procurement website. Registration is required. Proposals are due April 22. A timeline for a selection was not provided.
