Macomb County Employees' Retirement System, Mount Clemens, Mich., committed $10 million to a fund managed by Mavik Capital Management.
The $1.3 billion pension fund's board approved the commitment to the fund at its Oct. 27 meeting, recently released meeting minutes show.
The minutes did not disclose additional information regarding the fund. According to its website, Mavik Capital Management is an opportunistic alternative investments firm that focuses on U.S. commercial real estate credit and special situations investments.
The pension fund's target allocation to real estate is 10%.
Investment consultant AndCo Consulting assisted.
