Louisiana Teachers’ Retirement System, Baton Rouge, approved new commitments totaling up to $210 million.
The $26.9 billion pension fund’s board approved commitments of up to $110 million and $50 million, respectively, to life sciences private equity funds Blackstone Life Sciences VI and Blackstone Life Sciences VI Co-Investment, and up to $50 million to Northleaf Infrastructure Capital Partners IV, a middle-market infrastructure fund managed by Northleaf Capital Partners, at its Dec. 5 meeting, a spokesperson said.
TRSL has made numerous previous commitments to Blackstone, most recently approving in June a commitment of up to $125 million to opportunistic credit fund Blackstone Capital Opportunities Fund V.
Northleaf Capital Partners is a new manager for the pension fund.
As of Oct. 31, the pension fund’s actual allocation to alternative assets and real estate was 48.1%.
