Louisiana Teachers' Retirement System, Baton Rouge, made three new commitments totaling up to $125 million, said Dana Brown, director of public markets.
The $20.9 billion pension fund committed up to $50 million to buyout fund Green Equity Investors VIII and up to $25 million to buyout fund Jade Equity Investors, both managed by Leonard Green & Partners.
As of June 30, the pension fund's actual allocation to private equity/venture capital was 15%.
Also, the pension fund committed up to $50 million to Related Real Estate Fund III, a real estate fund managed by Related Cos.
As of June 30, the pension fund's actual allocation to real estate was 9%.
Separately, TRSL placed Western Asset Management Co. on watch for performance of its $300 million active emerging markets debt local currency portfolio, Mr. Brown said.
Western Asset spokesman Darrell Oliver declined to comment.
As of June 30, the actual allocation to emerging markets debt was 4%.
