Louisiana State Employees’ Retirement System, Baton Rouge, approved two new private equity commitments totaling $225 million.
The $15.8 billion pension fund’s board approved commitments of $125 million to a customized private equity co-investment portfolio managed by HarbourVest Partners and $100 million to BPEA Private Equity Fund IX, an Asia-focused buyout fund managed by EQT Private Capital Asia, at its Dec. 12 meeting, said Laney Sanders, assistant chief investment officer.
As of Sept. 30, the pension fund’s actual allocation to private markets was 21.5%; the target is 25%.
Investment consultant NEPC assisted.
