Louisiana Firefighters' Retirement System, Baton Rouge, hired Northern Trust as custodian.
The $2.2 billion pension fund's board approved the hiring at its Oct. 12 meeting, a webcast of the meeting shows.
The pension fund issued an RFP in April. The pension fund's current custodian is Bank of New York Mellon, and the board has not disclosed whether the firm rebid for the services.
Northern Trust was the sole finalist making a presentation at the Oct. 12 board meeting.
