Louisiana Firefighters' Retirement System, Baton Rouge, hired Brandywine Global Investment Management and Loomis, Sayles & Co. to run about $22 million each in global multisector fixed-income portfolios.
The $2.2 billion pension fund's board approved the hirings at its Nov. 9 meeting, recently released meeting minutes showed.
The pension fund issued an RFP in June. The other finalist was Fort Washington Investment Advisors.
The funding source for the global multisector fixed-income portfolio, which will make up 2% of the pension fund's total portfolio, was not provided in the meeting minutes.
As of Nov. 30, the pension fund's actual allocation to total fixed income was 26%, equal to its target.
Investment consultant NEPC assisted.
