Lincoln Financial Group, Radnor, Pa, hired Schroders to implement a managed overlay strategy for 17 funds on its variable annuity platform with net aggregate assets in excess of $11 billion, a spokeswoman said.
Schroders replaced State Street Global Advisors, which will remain subadviser for mandates other than the managed volatility overlay, the spokeswoman confirmed.
The overlay strategy has an objective of controlling volatility while retaining access to rising markets.
"The final strategy uses our innovative volatility management technology adapted to meet Lincoln's needs," said Mike Hodgson, head of risk managed investments and structured funds at Schroders.
