Kentucky Teachers' Retirement System, Frankfort, disclosed a manager hire and new commitment totaling $180 million.
The $22.8 billion pension fund disclosed the hiring of Monroe Capital to manage $130 million in a customized private credit separate account and a commitment of $50 million to AlpInvest Co-Investment Fund IX, a private equity co-investment fund focusing on buyouts and growth capital transactions managed by AlpInvest Partners, said Robert B. "Beau" Barnes, deputy executive secretary and general counsel, in an email.
The pension fund previously committed up to $35 million to AlpInvest Co-Investment Fund VIII in 2021. Monroe Capital is a new manager for the pension fund.
As of Dec. 31, the pension fund's actual allocation to alternative investments was 10.1%; the target is 7%.
