Jackson County (Mich.) Employees' Retirement System hired Aristotle Capital Management to run an active international value equity portfolio.
The $248 million pension fund's board voted to hire Aristotle Capital at its Dec. 10 meeting, recently released board meeting minutes show.
The pension fund conducted a shortlist search. Cambiar Investors and Lazard Asset Management were the other finalists, according to the minutes.
Funding came from a similar style portfolio managed by Brandes Investment Partners, which was terminated at the Dec. 10 meeting, the minutes said. The reason for the termination was not provided.
As of Dec. 31, 2019, Brandes managed $13 million, the most recent data available. The current size of the portfolio could not be immediately learned.
Investment consultant Morgan Stanley Wealth Management assisted.
