Illinois Teachers’ Retirement System, Springfield, rehired StepStone Group as private equity consultant and real assets consultant.
The $73 billion pension fund’s board approved the actions at its Dec. 13 meeting.
TRS had issued separate RFPs for both services in the summer due to the upcoming expiration of StepStone’s contracts on Dec. 31. Albourne Partners was the other private equity consultant finalist, and Meketa Investment Group was the other real assets consultant finalist.
As of Oct. 31, the pension fund’s actual allocations to total equities and real assets were 52% and 17.1%, respectively; their respective targets are 52% and 18%.
