Illinois State Universities Retirement System, Champaign, committed $100 million to two existing real estate managers during a Dec. 9 meeting of the board of trustees for the $21.9 billion pension fund, a news release said.
SURS' investment team committed $60 million to Longpoint Realty Fund III, managed by Longpoint Realty Partners, from the retirement system's $926 million core real estate portfolio.
Homestead Capital USA Farmland Fund IV received a commitment of $40 million.
Previously, SURS committed $50 million to Longpoint Realty Fund II and $60 million to Homestead Capital USA Farmland Fund III, the news release said.
The board also approved rehiring Meketa Investment Group as the pension fund's general investment consultant after a search that began in September. Meketa's new contract is for five years, subject to contract negotiations.
