Houston Firefighters' Relief and Retirement Fund committed to one private equity secondary fund and allocated $160 million to two passive investments, confirmed Ajit Singh, chief investment officer for the $4.6 billion pension plan.
At its meeting Tuesday, the board approved a commitment of up to $20 million to Portfolio Advisors Secondary Fund IV. It also agreed to invest up to $80 million apiece in iShares Russell 2000 ETF and in State Street Global Advisors' SPDR Gold Shares. Funding for the ETFs will come from the public markets portfolio.
