Hartford (Conn.) Municipal Employees' Retirement Fund agreed to commit $10 million to Wellington Hadley Harbor Partners III, confirmed Gary B. Draghi, chief investment officer of the $1.1 billion pension fund.
The fund, which is managed by Wellington Management's Hadley Harbor private markets team, focuses on late-stage growth/pre-IPO private investing. This is the pension fund's first commitment to this fund series. Wellington most recently managed a global tactical asset allocation mandate for the pension fund.
Meketa Investment Group, the pension fund's private equity consultant, advised on the commitment.
The fund commitment was authorized at the pension fund's Jan. 31 meeting.
