Hampshire County Retirement System, Northampton, Mass., is searching for an investment consultant, confirmed Mary G. Baronas, administrator for the $400 million defined benefit plan.
The search is being conducted to comply with state law requiring contracts be put out for rebid every seven years. NEPC is the plan's current consultant and is invited to rebid.
Ms. Baronas added that the scope of the consultant's responsibilities will be reduced because the board is moving the bulk of its portfolio to the $86.9 billion Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management Board, Boston.
A copy of the RFP can be obtained by contacting Ms. Baronas via email. Proposals are due by 3:30 p.m. EDT on June 30. Ms. Baronas expects the board to make a selection by early August.
