Detroit Policemen & Firemen Retirement System hired ORG Portfolio Management as real estate consultant, said Ryan Bigelow, chief investment officer, in an email.
The $3.3 billion pension fund issued an RFP in December as part of an ongoing review of its vendors, Mr. Bigelow said at the time. Incumbent consultant Courtland Partners did rebid for the services but was not selected as a finalist, Mr. Bigelow said.
The other finalists were Callan, Marquette Associates and Townsend Group.
The pension fund's target allocation to real estate is 10%.
