Cook County Annuity & Benefit Fund, Chicago, approved a commitment of $70 million to a private equity fund of funds managed by Mesirow Financial.
The $12 billion pension fund's board approved the commitment at its Oct. 6 meeting, recently released meeting minutes show.
The board previously $20 million to private equity fund of funds Mesirow Financial Private Equity Partnership VII in 2021.
The Oct. 6 meeting minutes did not disclose the name of the new Mesirow fund. The commitment is subject to the receipt of contributions from the county, the minutes said.
As of June 30, the pension fund's actual allocation to private equity was 8.3%; the target is 4%.
