Chicago Public School Teachers' Pension & Retirement Fund made two new commitments totaling $50 million.
The $13 billion pension fund's board at its meeting Thursday approved commitments of $35 million to real estate fund TA Realty Value-Add Fund XIII and $15 million to abrdn Venture Partners XIII, a venture capital fund of funds, spokeswoman Michelle Holleman said in an email.
The pension fund previously committed $25 million to Aberdeen Venture Partners XII in 2021 and $35 million to TA Realty Associates Fund XII in 2018.
As of Sept. 30, the actual allocation to real estate was 8.9%; the target is 9%.
