Chicago Park Employees' Annuity & Benefit Fund hired Meketa Investment Group as investment consultant.
The $366 million pension fund's board approved the selection at its Nov. 18 meeting, pending contract negotiations, according to recently released meeting minutes.
The other finalists were NEPC and Verus Advisory.
The pension fund had issued an RFP in August because of the upcoming expiration of incumbent consultant Marquette Associates' contract.
Executive Director Steve Swanson said at the time the firm was eligible to rebid. He could not be immediately reached to confirm whether the firm did so.
As of June 30, the pension fund's actual allocation was 31.7% domestic equities, 20.8% international equities, 15.6% fixed income, 8.3% real estate, 7% infrastructure, 6.9% hedged equity, 6.2% private equity and 3.5% cash.
