A CalPERS committee is expected to decide in April whether to recommend an RFP for an external auditor.
The contract of incumbent BDO USA is about to expire, and the risk and audit committee is scheduled to review an RFP at its April 19 meeting, Lisa Middleton, committee chairwoman, told the board at its Feb. 18 meeting.
The $449.1 billion California Public Employees' Retirement System, Sacramento, is also expected to consider a proposal by Ms. Middleton, who is also a member of the board's performance, compensation and talent management committee, to change the composition of the CEO's compensation to be mainly be based on salary and to de-emphasize incentive compensation.
She said at the Feb. 17 performance committee meeting that the current incentive programs are "far too complex and formalistic."
