Bristol County Retirement System, Taunton, Mass., is considering allocating $25 million to $30 million to a private equity secondary fund or funds.
Segal Marco Advisors, investment consultant to the $835 million pension fund, is assisting with the search.
The search is being conducted to comply with state law, said Roxanne L. Donovan, executive director of the pension fund. Funding will come from rebalancing.
The plan currently has a target allocation of 12% to private equity. Its current actual allocation is 7.9%.
The RFP is scheduled to be available on Segal Marco's website. Proposals are due 3 p.m. EDT on April 14. Ms. Donovan said she expects the board to make a decision by June.
Kevin Roundtree, associate consultant at Segal Marco Advisors, declined to comment beyond what was in the RFP.
