Bristol County Retirement System, Taunton, Mass., is searching for two active domestic small-cap and/or smidcap equity managers to run $21 million each.
The $897 million pension fund is seeking one growth manager and one value manager, according to two RFPs posted on the website of investment consultant Segal Marco Advisors, which is assisting with the search.
The RFP does not disclose the reason for the search, but local pension funds in Massachusetts are typically required to put services up for bid every seven years to comply with the requirements of the Massachusetts Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission.
As of June 30, Frontier Capital Management ran $21 million in active domestic small-cap growth equities, and EARNEST Partners ran $20 million in active domestic small-cap value equities, according to the pension fund’s most recent available investment report.
The RFP does not disclose whether current managers are invited to rebid. Roxanne Donovan, executive director of the pension fund, could not be immediately reached for further information.
The growth RFP and value RFP are both posted on Segal Marco Advisors’ website. Proposals are due by noon EST on Feb. 11. Timelines for selections were not provided.
