J.P. Morgan Private Investments hired BlackRock as a subadviser for the $6.4 billion Six Circles Funds Tax Aware Bond Fund.
The fund's board of trustees approved BlackRock as an additional subadviser at a Nov. 17 meeting, according to an SEC filing Wednesday.
The addition was effective Nov. 30, the filing said. The other subadvisers are Allspring Global Investments, Capital Group and Nuveen.
According to the filing, BlackRock will invest primarily in U.S. Treasuries and government agency bonds in a passive strategy.
The Six Circles Funds Tax Aware Bond portfolio consists of strategies providing exposure across primarily municipal bonds with varying maturity ranges, according to a summary prospectus.
J.P. Morgan Private Investments spokesman Robert Carosella Jr. declined to comment.
