Baltimore City Fire & Police Employees' Retirement System approved two new commitments totaling $25 million.
The $3 billion pension fund's board approved commitments of $15 million to Brookfield Infrastructure Fund V, an infrastructure fund managed by Brookfield Asset Management, and $10 million to Carlyle Renewable & Sustainable Energy Fund II, an energy fund managed by Carlyle Group, at its Feb. 21 meeting, spokeswoman Amy E. Baskerville said in an email.
The pension fund previously committed $20 million to Brookfield Infrastructure Fund IV in 2019 and $15 million to Carlyle Renewable and Sustainable Energy Fund in 2020.
As of Feb. 28, the actual allocation to real assets was 5%, equal to its target.
Investment consultant NEPC assisted.
