Austin (Texas) Police Retirement Fund hired Wellington Management to run a $20 million emerging markets equity strategy, confirmed Pattie Featherston, executive director for the $800 million pension fund, in an email.
The board approved the hire during a meeting Wednesday. J.P. Morgan Asset Management was the other finalist, according to the meeting agenda.
Information about the search process was not available.
The pension fund's international equity portfolio totaled $112 million as of June 30.
