Arlington County (Va.) Employees' Retirement System hired GQG Partners to run $150 million in active domestic equities, said Daniel E. Zito, executive director and chief investment officer, in an email.
The $2.5 billion fund's board approved the hiring at its June 4 meeting.
About $137 million comes from a passive domestic large-cap equity portfolio managed by Vanguard Group, leaving it with $255 million, while approximately $13 million comes from a short-term investment portfolio managed by Northern Trust Asset Management, leaving it with $200 million.
