Arkansas Teacher Retirement System, Little Rock, approved five new commitments totaling up to $125 million, said Rod Graves, deputy director, in an email.
The $21.8 billion pension fund's board at its meeting Monday approved commitments of up to $50 million to distressed debt and special situations fund Silver Point Capital Offshore Fund, up to $30 million to buyout fund SK Capital Partners VI, and up to $15 million each to buyout funds Thoma Bravo Fund XV, Thoma Bravo Discover Fund IV and Thoma Bravo Explore Fund II, Mr. Graves said.
The pension fund previously committed up to $30 million to SK Capital Partners V in 2018, up to $20 million to Thoma Bravo Explore Fund in 2019. Silver Point Capital is a new manager for the pension fund.
As of Dec. 31, the pension fund's actual allocations to private equity and opportunistic/alternatives were 12.4% and 4.4%, respectively.
