Alameda County Employees' Retirement Association, Oakland, Calif., committed $40 million to Brookfield Super-Core Infrastructure Partners.
The $7.4 billion pension fund's board approved the commitment to the open-end infrastructure fund managed by Brookfield Asset Management at its July 16 meeting, spokesman Michael Fara said.
Brookfield Super-Core Infrastructure Partners targets utilities and transportation networks, among other essential services.
As of March 31, the pension fund's actual allocation to real assets was 4.8%.
