Renee Wilder Guerin has been appointed executive vice president of public policy at Retirement Clearinghouse.
Ms. Wilder Guerin started June 7 and is replacing E. Thomas Johnson Jr., who will retire at the end of the year, a spokeswoman said in an email. Ms. Wilder Guerin will be tasked with driving support for Retirement Clearinghouse's public policy matters, such as aiming to preserve retirement savings, a news release said.
"Renee's many years of experience working on plan design and innovative programs which advocate for, and advance, improved service and retirement savings outcomes for the federal civilian and military workforce will be crucial as we look toward the next phase of Retirement Clearinghouse's evolution," said J. Spencer Williams, founder, president and CEO, in the news release. "The progress we have made thus far would not have been possible without Tom Johnson's commitment and vision, and we wish him all the best as he begins his next chapter."
Ms. Wilder Guerin previously worked as the director of the office of enterprise planning for the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board, Washington, which administers the $773.3 billion Thrift Savings Plan. She announced in April that she was leaving the Thrift board.
Kim Weaver, the Thrift board's director of external affairs, has been named the office of enterprise planning's acting director while maintaining her current role. The Thrift board plans to issue a job posting for a permanent replacement in the coming weeks, Ms. Weaver said in an email.
In 2019, the Department of Labor granted Retirement Clearinghouse the ability to expand its auto-portability program, which is aimed at reducing plan leakage and missing participants.
