The CFP Board postponed July exams for certified financial planners until September due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the board announced on its website.
The board announced all exams currently scheduled to be administered in July will be rescheduled to sometime between Sept. 22 and Sept. 29.
Candidates will receive instructions by May 31 how to reschedule for the dates in September with the option of rescheduling for November if the candidates are not available in September.
Further delays are not foreseen, according to the website, but the board "will only move forward with planned exam administrations if we believe they can be conducted without compromising the health of exam candidates."
The current window for tests in November is Nov. 3-10, with registration to open July 16.
In an FAQ on its website, the board said current candidates registered for July will be prioritized for September before potential new candidates are considered.
