Brett Chatfield was appointed chief investment officer at Cbus Super, Melbourne, effective immediately, according to a statement on Thursday.
He was made acting CIO after his predecessor Kristian Fok was made CEO on June 13.
As CIO, Mr. Chatfield will lead the expansion of in-house investment capabilities, the statement said. The fund currently manages 38% of its A$83 billion ($56 billion) in assets internally. It plans to internalize another 12% over the next five years, a spokeswoman said.
Mr. Chatfield joined the fund in 2013 as the portfolio head for public markets and was made deputy CIO in 2019. He has over 20 years' experience and previously worked in investment consulting and investment analysis.
Information about a new deputy CIO was not available.
