Agnes Hong will join Aware Super, Sydney, as its head of public market equities in February, the A$167 billion ($111.6 billion) superannuation fund said in a statement on Jan. 25.
She will be based in Sydney and report to Simon Warner, head of portfolio management, who joined the super fund in September.
In this newly created role, she will lead Aware Super's A$90 billion public markets portfolio and spearhead the development of the fund's 2030 public market equities strategy which will build upon the firm's existing internal capability, the statement said.
Hong will relocate to Australia from Philadelphia. She most recently chief investment officer and head of advisory services at wealth management firm Vestmark Advisory Solutions.
The fund also announced the promotion of Murray Keir to senior portfolio manager for systematic equities and Bruce Low as portfolio manager. The public market equities team also includes Alvin Chan as portfolio manager for direct equities and Dan Hunt as portfolio manager for managed equities.
