Frank Forster joined StepStone Real Estate as a managing director to help lead the firm's secondaries, recapitalization and co-investment activities in Europe.
The position is new and brings the size of its investment team to 45, a spokesman said.
Mr. Forster is based in London and reports to Josh Cleveland, partner and head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
"Frank's 20-plus years' experience investing throughout Europe, in often complex structured transactions, have positioned him to help to lead our European investment activities," Mr. Cleveland said in a news release. "The addition of a senior professional like Frank is key to our focus on prudently investing the substantial amount of dry powder we have to deploy in partnership with Europe's leading real estate managers."
StepStone Real Estate has $105 billion in assets under management.
Mr. Forster focused on Germany for EQT Group's real estate business. A spokeswoman declined to comment.
