Matthew Yao joined PGIM Real Estate in Shanghai as head of China on Monday.
The position is a new one.
A PGIM news release said Mr. Yao will lead the firm's Shanghai-based team and spearhead its China strategy, expanding PGIM's pool of investment opportunities and joint venture partnerships while developing future investment vehicles in China.
Mr. Yao comes to PGIM from CBRE Global Investors, where he served as head of China, a PGIM spokeswoman said.
The release did not state to whom Mr. Yao will report.
A spokesman for CBRE couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
