Julie Townsend joined PGIM Real Estate in London Wednesday as director of ESG for Europe and Asia-Pacific.
The position is a new one, said a spokeswoman for the firm.
Ms. Townsend comes to PGIM Real Estate from CBRE in London, where she served as an executive director and head of environmental consultancy.
A CBRE spokesman didn't immediately respond to requests for comment.
At PGIM Real Estate, Ms. Townsend will oversee the firm's ESG strategy and implementation across Europe and the Asia-Pacific, reporting to Christina Hill, managing director, global head of ESG and head of Americas asset management.
PGIM Real Estate had net assets under management of $134 billion as of Sept. 30, and another $45 billion in assets under administration.
