Brian Klinksiek was named head of European research and global portfolio strategies at LaSalle Investment Management, effective Sept. 15.
Whether the role is new could not immediately be learned.
Mr. Klinksiek will be based in London, a news release said. He will report to Jeff Jacobson, global and interim Europe CEO, and Jacques Gordon, global head of research and strategy.
Mr. Klinksiek will lead the firm's European research and strategy team, which is responsible for forecasting real estate markets, capital markets and metro economies across Europe. He will also take on a leading role in helping to set the firm's global strategy outlook, relative value assessments and portfolio strategies.
Mr. Klinksiek will also lead an expansion and enhancement of LaSalle's global analytical tools.
"Brian's depth of experience will serve our clients well as we advance through an unprecedented global recession and fragmented recovery," Mr. Gordon said in the release.
LaSalle has about $65 billion in assets under management.
Mr. Klinksiek was director of strategy and research operations at real estate firm Heitman, based in Hong Kong, the release said.
Spokesmen for LaSalle and Heitman could not immediately be reached for comment.
