Alexis Gisselbrecht was named managing director, portfolio management at real assets manager Harrison Street, according to a news release Thursday.
The role is new. Based in London, Mr. Gisselbrecht leads the portfolio management in Europe and oversees the performance of Harrison Street's European strategies across the U.K. Spain, Germany and Luxembourg.
"His impressive background in value-add investing will be invaluable as we look to continue building and optimizing portfolios across our demographic-driven alternative property sectors," Joey Lansing, global head of portfolio management and strategy at Harrison Street, said in the release.
Mr. Gisselbrecht was senior fund manager for real assets at AXA Investment Managers. A spokeswoman could not be immediately reached to comment about a replacement.
Harrison Street has $55 billion in assets under management.
