John Diedrich was named global head of investments at real estate investment firm CA Ventures, spokeswoman Mimi Simon confirmed in an email.
The position is new. Mr. Diedrich will oversee all acquisitions and development activity throughout the U.S., Europe and South America, with an emphasis on student and multifamily housing. He will report to CEO Tom Scott.
Mr. Diedrich was executive vice president of investments at CA Ventures. He will continue to retain these responsibilities.
CA Ventures' portfolio includes $10.2 billion in assets.
