David Olney was named CEO of real estate manager Berkshire Residential Investments, spokesman John Dobroski said.
Mr. Olney replaced Charles Leitner, who left the company to become global CEO of real estate money manager CBRE Global Investors.
Mr. Olney was chairman of the investment committee at Berkshire; he remains acting CIO until the firm announces a permanent CIO.
Berkshire had $8.7 billion in real estate assets under management as of June 30.
