Alexander Fraser has been named executive vice president and global head of private equity at Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System, Toronto, effective March 17, succeeding Michael Graham, who retired earlier this year.
Based in New York, Fraser will report to CIO Ralph Berg, said a news release March 13.
Fraser will have “accountability and oversight for our global private equity business, which includes our buyout and private capital groups covering various sectors and strategies,” the news release said.
OMERS' private equity unit has about C$27.5 billion ($19.2 billion) in assets and has achieved a 10-year average annualized net return of 9.2% through the end of 2024, the release added.
Fraser was a founding partner and head of U.S. at 65 Equity Partners, a global private equity initiative sponsored by Temasek Holdings, Singapore's sovereign wealth fund. 65 Equity Partners has $3.3 billion in assets under management, according to its website. 65 Equity Partners could not be immediately reached for further information.
OMERS has a total of C$138.2 billion in assets.
