Suyi Kim, senior managing director and head of Asia-Pacific with the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, will take on the role of global head of private equity for the C$497.2 billion ($397.6 billion) Toronto-based fund.
Ms. Kim will take the helm of CPPIB's private equity department on Sept. 15, according to a news release. As of March 31, the private equity team managed C$125.1 billion of CPPIB's assets.
In her new role, Ms. Kim replaces Shane Feeney, who left CPPIB last month after 11 years to lead the global secondaries business of private markets investment firm Northleaf Capital Partners, Toronto.
A new head of Asia-Pacific will be named in due course, a CPPIB spokeswoman said. Until then, Ms. Kim will retain those regional leadership responsibilities, splitting her time between Toronto and Hong Kong, the spokeswoman said.
