The combined value of global buyout exits plummeted to a five-year low of $392.5 billion in 2024, while the number of buyouts achieving exits was up 5% to 2,227 deals from the prior year, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence analysis of Preqin data.

Venture capital firms Insight Partners and Y Combinator had the most number of exits between Jan. 1 and Dec. 9. Each sold 22 portfolio companies in the period, S&P Global Market Intelligence data showed.
